I would just note that, when talking about engagement with Indigenous communities or governments in French, one should be cautious about using "consultation" (or "consulter" in French) as a synonym for "engagement". In English, “consultation” has a specific meaning for many Indigenous people, as it is seen to refer to the legal requirement of “consultation and accommodation” when there is the potential to infringe Indigenous rights. Its very common as a federal official when working with Indigenous governments to call your meeting an “engagement session” rather than a “consultation”, lest it give the impression that the meeting may be a prelude to rights’ infringement, and some Indigenous leaders may begin a meeting with government officials by stating “this is engagement, this is not a consultation”. So when talking about "engagement" with an Indigenous group in French, it might be best to find a French term other than "consulter" that works in context.
