Capitalize the names of languages when they’re used as nouns:

  • Amina speaks English at work and Arabic at home.
  • Cree is an Algonquian language spoken in Canada.

Capitalize the names of languages when they’re used as adjectives:

  • The German-language school offers classes to all ages.
  • Pierre provided a French translation of the report.
